Technicolor DGA0122 - Initial Config

As of August 2023 we highly recommend the Technicolor DGA0122 router to all customers who need an affordable router for home or small business use (please get in touch if you'd like us to sell you one!). You can view the datasheet for this router here: https://clients.unchainedisp.net/dl.php?type=d&id=1

This router supports ADSL, and VDSL (FTTC/SoGEA) with its built-in modem and FTTP via the ethernet WAN port on the rear. Whilst you can achieve the full throughput of a gigabit FTTP service, this can only be achieved over a wired connection and you can expect to see less throughput for wireless devices.

Configuring for xDSL connections

To configure this router to use PPPoE authentication with the built-in modem, simply login to the router with the details supplied on the card, then navigate to the Internet Access card, click the cog on the top right of that card then select Show Advanced at the top of the window, you'll be able to enter your credentials (note: these can be retrieved from the password manager within your account, please let us know if you have any trouble with this):

Once you have entered your PPPoE Username and Password, ensure that the EnabledNAT, and IPv6 sliders are set to ON. Your router should the connect to us and retrieve it's IP configuration both for IPv4 and IPv6. NOTE: Whilst we've shown the config for xDSL based connections, we don't have screenshots available of configuration for an FTTP connection, though PPPoE authentication is also used for FTTP with the only difference being that the routers WAN port connects to the FTTP ONT with an ethernet cable rather than using its internal modem for connectivity.

To ensure IPv6 is properly configured for your LAN devices, simply click the cog on the Local Network card, click Show Advanced at the top right of the page, then ensure IPv6 State is set to ON:

Once you have done the above, no further configuration is necessary and you've done enough to get online with both IPv4 and IPv6 and start browsing the internet.
