DNS Resolvers and NTP Servers

We provide free DNS resolvers and NTP servers for use by all customers who have a service on our network. Note, these services can only be used if you have an IP on our network.

DNS Resolvers

DNS Resolver IPv4 Address IPv6 Address DoT (DNS-over-TLS)
cache1 185.250.8.10 2a0b:9400::10 dns.unchainedisp.net:853
cache2 185.250.8.11 2a0b:9400::11 dns.unchainedisp.net:853

If you are a broadband customer, when your router connects to us, it'll receive (at minimum) the IPv4 DNS addresses above. Depending on your configuration, you may also automatically receive the IPv6 addresses listed, though you may need to specify these manually.

Our DNS resolvers support DoT (DNS-over-TLS) and we actively encourage you to use it if your router or local DNS resolver software supports it.

For privacy reasons, our default configuration does not log any DNS queries and the only reason we'd ever enable this is if we had to debug an issue, which so far, we have not had to do.

NTP Servers

If you'd like to use our NTP servers, then you can simply configure your NTP client to look at 'ntp.unchainedisp.net'. This resolves to multiple IP addresses for high-availability.
